So I decided to build Film Trips
For ten years, I heard the same question from event organizers, small business owners, and individuals in the community: “Hey Imani, I know you’re probably busy, so do you know a good photographer, videographer, or content creator I can book?”
I also watched talented creators wait. Wait to be found. Wait to be contacted. Wait for permission to build something of their own. They had the eye, the passion, and the local knowledge. What they didn't have was a structure that let them activate their creative pursuits.
I saw both sides of the same problem. The people who needed creators couldn't find them. The creators who wanted to build couldn't get started. Nobody had created a space where a creator could design their own experience, bring a community around it, and get paid for the moment they created.
Film Trips is my solution and the infrastructure for local in-person creative work.
